Shibori Dye Class
Workspace
The Japanese art of shibori uses folded, bound, stitched, compressed and twisted cloth resulting in a variety of dye patterns. In the first class, students will manipulate a market tote bag using indigo, a natural dye. Week two, make a set of cases for throw pillows using brilliant acid dyes, and try a new shibori technique. Take home pieces of functional and beautiful art.
Class meets Thursdays beginning July 6, 7-9pm for 2 weeks
