Co-Sponsor an Activity with ISU AfterDark

Want to plan a campus activity for free?  ISU AfterDark is an organization that provides students with fun and exciting late night activities six Fridays throughout the year.  Each of the events includes co-sponsored activities hosted by various student organizations. These activities have ranged from trivia to dancing to crafts, and ISU AfterDark pays up to 100% of the cost of supplies (maximum of $250)!  Plus, this would be a great opportunity for exposure to over 2,000 students and very helpful in recruiting new members for your organization!

The Fall ISU AfterDark events are August 30, October 4, and November 1.  If you're interested in co-sponsoring an activity, please go to afterdark.iastate.edu, click on Co-Sponsorship Guidelines and complete a Proposal Form. The theme on August 30 will be a “Beat the Heat” theme, October 4 a Willy Wonka theme, and the November 1 event a Harry Potter theme. For help with ideas for an activity to co-sponsor or for any other questions, email afterdark@iastate.edu

Ames 4th of July Parade
The 2013 Ames 4th of July Parade and Festival is sure to be a success with the collaboration of great groups throughout the community.  The event annually hosts around 11,000 attendees and is only possible with dedicated volunteers and the participation of many organizations.
Please consider joining in the fun and celebration through a parade entry, festival booth or joining the volunteer crew.

 >>Visit AmesDowntown.org for Parade and Festival Entry Forms and Rules, and to sign up to volunteer, or contact the Main Street Cultural District for more information, events@amesdowntown.org or 515-233-3472.

Get Involved with Destination Iowa State 2013
Destination Iowa State is currently inviting student organizations to participate in the Center of ExCYtment Picnic on Thursday, August 22 and/or Late Night at the Memorial Union on Friday, August 23, 2013. Both events are great ways to promote your organization and reach out to new students!  During these events, student organizations host interactive activities for new students, ranging from obstacle courses and carnival games, to dance lessons and group crafts.  Our staff is happy to help your organization develop an exciting activity geared toward the new students in attendance.

If you are interested in applying to host an activity during Destination Iowa State or have any questions, please email Kyle Holtman, Destination Iowa State Coordinator, at holtman@iastate.edu.
