It was a frosty Christmas day around my grandparent's town. Their neighbor's old barn looked especially pretty.

I love this elf. I always used to think he came alive on Christmas Eve and helped Santa get the presents into the house. It is still fun to see it sit on the tree every year and remember past Christmases

Once I got home to Illinois for Christmas break, I turned right back around and came back to Iowa to celebrate Christmas with my mom's family. Iowa is officially my adopted state.

My grandma loved her new Iowa State snuggie. She's a huge fan and once she put it on, couldn't stop laughing. You had to be there, but it was hilarious.

For Christmas I got a new DSLR camera so I was eager to go out and see what kind of pictures I could take. This is where the experiment began.

The frost on this evergreen was pretty. The green is nice to see, even if it was freezing cold.

I really liked this old, antique looking clock in the town park. The black stood out nicely against the white trees.

This is probably my favorite picture. I stumbled upon this car parked on someone's property. It was the last thing I expected to see and it was definitely interesting.

My dog needed a little exercise after the long car ride to Iowa. He also loves snow, so he took a few laps around the yard and up and down the driveway.

He didn't want to go back inside. He just kept running through the snow!

I spotted these horses as I was driving through my grandparents town. They were no doubt huddling for warmth on that cold day!

I'm not sure what kind of bush or plant this is, but it look beautiful covered in frost with the reflection of the sun.

This windmill poked out from behind the ice covered trees, only to almost blend in with the stark grey sky.

It was so bright outside after the sun came out, you could hardly see. This picture seemed neat though because you can't really tell what is beyond the gate, but the beautiful trees around it are all that matters

I don't know who owns this barn, but the quilt-like painting is very neat.

If the pipes aren't frozen, maybe you can take a drink out of this frosty drink fountain in the park.
