Emerging Leaders Retreat


What is Emerging Leaders Retreat (ELR)?

Emerging Leaders Retreat is an overnight, off-campus retreat  for freshmen, sophomore, junior, and transfer students interested in building leadership skills. ELR was first held in October 2011 at the Des Moines Y Camp in Boone.  The event has been growing since the first retreat. 

Who attends ELR?

Freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and transfer students who want to be leaders on campus and in the community! If you are involved and want to build the skills to take the next step to be a student leader in Student Government, of an organization, residence hall, group, etc. this retreat would benefit you!

Why should I attend ELR?

You will have the opportunity to build relationships with current and future student leaders at Iowa State, get advice, and learn and enhance many of the important knowledge and skills that leaders on campus need to be successful!

How do I apply?

Applications will be available in August! 

What is the cost?

Emerging Leaders Retreat is a FREE event for students sponsored by Student Activities Center and Student Government.
