The ISU Rotaract Club provides a variety of community service opportunities to its members. The club provides a unique opportunity to interact with business leaders from the community and around the world.

The collegiate chapter works with Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa (Hamilton, Hardin and Story Counties) to raise money for Habitat projects. Also, the group spreads awareness of the poverty housing and recruits volunteers to build.

Pages of Promise is an organization dedicated to collecting and sending new and used books to schools in the developing regions of Africa. Each semester we collect over 15,000 books at ISU.

We recycle pop cans from the Memorial Union and the Hub and donate the money to Emergency Residence Project, a local temporary shelter.

Running With Heart is a voluntary committee dedicated to raising awareness of cardiovascular disease, the number one cause of death in America. Each year a 5 kilometer and 10 kilometer run/walk event is organized to display Running With HeartĄ¯s primary purpose: to promote exercise, educate participants about heart health and obesity, and build community in Ames and at Iowa State University. Running With Heart provides a special event for the families of Iowa State University and takes place during Cyclone Family Weekend. All proceeds from the Running With Heart event are donated to the American Heart Association.

Teach for America is an organization dedicated to the elimination of educational inequity in this country. We seek exceptional leaders from all majors in the Iowa State community to join in this movement by dedicating two years post-graduation to teaching in low-income, rural and urban communities.

The 10,000 Hours Show seeks to recruit and reward community volunteers with a free concert. Through volunteerism, citizens find purpose and personal connections, communities fill considerable needs, and students learn through practical experience.
