Exhibit Reception for Alexis Dwyer
Alexis Dwyer: On the Beaten Path Exhibit
While biking on trails, walking neighborhoods, and paddling creeks, Dwyer began noticing the trash left behind by others. She began collecting discarded items from these outdoor spaces, and explored how it could be re-purposed. Her current work transforms what most people consider trash into tools used to create tapestries through the cyanotype process, printmaking, and hand-sewing objects onto fabric.
