Leadership ISU

The Leadership ISU Learning Community is designed for any students looking to:

  • Get involved in clubs and organizations on campus.

  • Grow in their leadership understanding and leadership skills.

  • Meet and interact with other students interested in making an impact on campus.

  • Begin or continue their leadership experiences.

Have discussions focused on personal and leadership development.

This community is partnered with Campus Leadership Development (LD ST 270), a three credit course designed for students who want to learn more about leadership and get involved on campus. This interactive experience teaches students about leading in college and resources available to help them succeed at ISU.

Campus Leadership Development (LD ST 270) is one part lecture and one part small-group discussions.  The clusters of students are facilitated by upper-class students and graduate students. This course will provide an array of learning opportunities, resources, and the opportunity to work with current campus leaders (students, staff, and faculty). Students who successfully complete the course will demonstrate understanding of exemplary leadership practices, have identified a major societal issue to address, and analyzed student organizations of interest. The course will meet on Mondays and Wednesdays  from 3:10 - 4:30 p.m. (sections A-M)

Campus Leadership Development (LD ST 270) is also part of the Leadership Studies Program, an academic certificate and minor program focused on leadership.

To start your Iowa State experience off with a focus on student leadership, join the Leadership ISU learning community!
