Asserting Beyond Assumption: How Racially Marginalized Leaders CAN Self Advocate and Shift Paradigms Simultaneously
Oftentimes, racially marginalized leaders are expected- either implicitly or explicitly- to maintain a level of affability and decorum in workplace settings that can feel constricting to the point of oppressive. Referencing the unprecedented interest in openly discussing race-based inequity in professional environments that has emerged this year, this talk invites both racially marginalized and white participants to critically examine how social mores must also be included in such conversations in order to truly facilitate just and equitable work environments for all.
