ClubFest is is an opportunity for students to browse through over 350 clubs and organizations to find the one that ignites their passion. Make sure your club is one of the organizations represented! Spots are filling quickly, so sign up now for either a booth or a demonstration location. Please verify that no one else in your group has registered your organization already before submitting.

Visit the Fall Volunteer Fair

Every student organization can be a service organization as well. Come to the fair to find the perfect fit for your org, or connect to a personal cause and volunteer on your own. The fair will be held in conjunction with ClubFest on Central Campus - look for the Volunteer Fair tent!

Get Funds for Your Next Event!

Is your student organization looking for some additional funds to make your upcoming event even better? Submit an event proposal to the Event Funding Board! The Student Organization Event Funding Board offers recognized student organizations an opportunity to receive funds for events throughout the academic year (fall and spring semesters only). The ultimate goal of this program is to aid student organizations in creating diverse and inclusive events that will contribute to Iowa State's vibrant community. Student organizations can now apply for funds each month for events that are at least 6 weeks out from the monthly deadline!

What is a co-curricular transcript (CCT), you ask? A CCT is a record of your involvement, experiences and achievements as an ISU student. Having a CCT serves as a one stop shop for you to demonstrate skills and attributes to employers, graduate schools, scholarship selection committees, internship providers and more - giving you that competitive edge! 

Your CCT can include: Campus involvement, community service, honors & awards, internships & study abroad, leadership experience, on-campus employment, publications, recreational activities, research, seminars & workshops, and student org involvement.

Division of Diversity & Inclusion: Campus Conversation Event - Aug. 25

The Division of Diversity & Inclusion supports all student organizations in building a model of inclusion that impacts every aspect of campus life and gives voice to all members of the university community. This Friday, August 25, the Office of the Vice President for Diversity & Inclusion will be hosting a Campus Conversation Event

Campus communities continue to be leaders of change. With the events occurring at the University of Virginia, the Division of Diversity & Inclusion encourages everyone to engage in this conversation. Come in for the full time or just drop in.

"Dear Stress, Let's Break Up..." Event

Your adventure and ultimate success at ISU begins with wellness. Taking time for yourself in the midst of classes, homework, jobs, and relationships is challenging, but is an important way to change the level of your stressors and increase your ability to cope. Learn mindfulness and relaxation techniques through art, music and movement with Board-Certified Movement Therapist Camilla Kottman that will help you create a balance between self-care and the demands of everyday life.

Take Advantage of the Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau Grants

Are you hosting an event or activity open to the general public? If so, the Ames Convention & Visitors Bureau (ACVB) Community Grant Program is here to help! The ACVB offers funds to public and private orgs who strive to create a positive perception of Ames and improve the quality of life for community members. 

If you meet the requirements, this may be the perfect opportunity for your student club/org to get the funding you need!

The 2018 deadline is Wednesday, October 11 at noon. Grants will be awarded to events occurring from December 2017 to December 2018. Visit the ACVB website for additional information and to download the grant application. 

Co-Sponsor an Upcoming ISU AfterDark

Are you interested in partnering with an organization that provides students with fun and exciting late-night activities? Check out ISU AfterDark!

Upcoming dates: September 29 & November 3

For each of these events, we need co-sponsors to host different activities for the AfterDark attendees. These activities have included trivia, dancing, crafts, carnival games and Henna tattoos. You can be as creative as you would like, and we will pay up to 100% of the cost of your supplies. Plus, this is great exposure to over 2,000 students and helpful in recruiting new members to your org! To co-sponsor an activity, please visit afterdark.iastate.edu and complete a Proposal Form.

Reserve the Lynn Fuhrer Lodge for Your Next Retreat

The Lynn Fuhrer Lodge is available for reservations! This unique location set in the woods is the perfect spot for your club's all-day retreats or long meetings (reservations must be a minimum of three hours long). To learn more about the lodge and submit your reservation request, click HERE.

Tabling Opportunity at the Beat Iowa Bash

The Department of Residence with the assistance of the Frederiksen Court Community will be hosting the Beat Iowa Bash on Friday, September 8, from 5:00PM-10:00PM to celebrate our Cyclone Pride with a pep rally to get people excited for Saturday's football game against the University of Iowa. This event is biannual and typically has between 500-1,000 students in attendance. The Department of Residence and the Frederiksen Court Community is reaching out to solicit assistance from student clubs and organizations to table and host activities throughout the event. This could include carnival games, philanthropy events, and/or arts and crafts. Please contact Cody Simons at cdsimons@iastate.edu to express interest and share your organization's ideas by no later than Friday, September 1, at 5:00PM. Go Cyclones!

Share Your Adventure at Iowa State...Become a Cyclone Aide

Do you want to get more involved at Iowa State, gain quality leadership experience, and get paid for it? Apply to be a Cyclone Aide! This leadership position is a fantastic way to show your Cyclone pride to new students, be part of a team, develop leadership skills, and improve public speaking. Each Cyclone Aide is responsible for representing their academic college at New Student Orientation, giving tours of central campus, and providing excellent customer service to new students and their families. The time commitment for this position is a one year contract from January 2018-January 2019, including a Spring 2018 course for training in the position. Get more information on the position and the application.
